Fast, responsible clearances that give you your space back

Waste Services — House & Flat Clearances

From single rooms to whole properties, A Star Waste Management clears, loads, and lawfully disposes of everything you no longer need—quickly, carefully, and with minimal disruption. Whether it’s end-of-tenancy, probate, pre-sale, post-renovation, or a long-overdue declutter, we make it simple.

Fast, Friendly & Professional

House & Flat Clearances

We handle clearances for houses and flats of all sizes—from compact studios to multi-bed family homes. You can book part or full clearances, whether it’s a single item or whole areas like rooms, lofts, basements, garages, and sheds. We also provide rapid end-of-tenancy and pre-sale turnarounds for landlords, agents, and homeowners.

Sensitive situations are treated with care: probate clearances are respectful, discreet, and methodical. We manage hoarded or heavy build-ups with structured plans, additional labour, and appropriate protective equipment. Builder’s and DIY waste—including rubble, timber, and offcuts—is collected and segregated for recycling wherever possible.

What we collect

We collect and clear furniture, white goods, electronics (WEEE), household effects, outdoor/shed items, and DIY/renovation waste. Items are dismantled where needed, sorted at source, and routed for reuse, recycling, or compliant disposal (with fridges/freezers processed at licensed facilities to safely handle gases). Mixed loads are staged by stream for speed and higher recovery rates, and every job includes a Duty of Care Waste Transfer Note for a clear, legal audit trail.

DIY & Renovation Waste

DIY and renovation projects generate heavy, awkward, and often mixed materials that are difficult to manage without a plan. We handle the full uplift, carefully separating loads into practical fractions on site—rubble, wood, metal, and general—to keep weight safe, protect floors and access routes, and streamline processing. Ceramics, tiles, bricks, and hardcore are directed to aggregate recycling streams; timber is separated from MDF and composites; ferrous and non-ferrous metals (such as radiators, pipework, and fixings) are reclaimed for recovery; and soft furnishings like carpets and underlay are baled where facilities accept them. By staging materials at the van and using the right handling kit, we move heavy items efficiently while keeping communal areas tidy and neighbours undisturbed.

This method is often faster, cleaner, and more space-efficient than hiring a skip—especially where on-street permits, tight access, or shared driveways make skips impractical. There’s no guesswork on skip size, no risk of third-party fly-tipping into your container, and no need to block parking while you load over several days. Instead, we arrive, sort, lift, and remove in one coordinated visit, maximising recycling yields and giving you a clear audit trail for compliance. The result: a safer site, a neater finish, and waste routed to the most responsible outlets without slowing your project down.

Access & Preparation

To keep your clearance running smoothly, please reserve parking close to the property or arrange visitor permits where required—this saves time and avoids delays, especially on busy roads or controlled bays. Before we arrive, secure pets and mark any belongings you intend to keep; a simple “KEEP” note or a small keep-pile makes decisions clear for everyone and prevents accidental removal. If we’re clearing a flat or apartment, let us know about lift access in advance and share any building rules, quiet hours, or concierge procedures so we can protect communal areas, minimise disturbance, and plan the right number of crew members and protective materials.

If you can’t be present on the day, that’s no problem—keys can be collected from trusted neighbours, letting agents, or a coded key safe by arrangement. We’ll confirm identity on collection, carry out a quick arrival call, and share updates (including optional photos) before sign-off. These simple preparations help us work efficiently, protect your home and shared spaces, and complete your clearance safely and on schedule.

Furniture Collection & Clearance

We safely remove bulky and awkward items, dismantling where needed (e.g., wardrobes/bedframes) to protect walls, stairwells, and floors. Reusable pieces go to donation, wood and metals are recycled, and mattresses follow approved streams to recover fibres and springs—leaving your space clear, tidy, and compliant.

White Goods & Appliances Collection & Clearance

We disconnect appliances safely, manage hoses and drip trays to prevent spills, and move units with correct handling (upright where required). Metals, plastics, and wiring are routed to compliant facilities for recovery, and any gas lines or sharp edges are managed with appropriate PPE for safety.
Fridges/freezers are processed at licensed facilities where refrigerants and oils are safely extracted; casings, metals, and plastics are then recycled.

Electronics Collection & Clearance

We ” A Star Waste Management” collect and clear all Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and route it to authorised treatment facilities (AATFs). Screens are protected to prevent breakage, cabling and PCBs are separated for metal recovery, and data-bearing items (e.g., printers with memory) are handled with extra care—processed by certified downstream partners for secure, compliant disposal and recycling.

Household Collection & Clearance

We sort contents at source—setting aside donation-grade items for reuse partners, separating recyclables (e.g., textiles, books, cardboard), and sending only non-recoverables to disposal. Fragile and sentimental pieces are packed with extra care, and sensitive papers can be bagged for secure destruction on request.

Mixed loads and partial clear-outs

Our mixed waste clearance service sorts items by stream right at the van for faster loading, clean audit trails, and higher recycling rates. This reduces landfill, keeps your clearance eco-friendly, and ensures predictable, transparent pricing—ideal for quick house or flat clearances without the hassle.

Compliance & Documentation Across All Categories

When you book a clearance, you’re not just paying for labour and transport—you’re also buying peace of mind that everything is handled legally and responsibly. We operate as a licensed waste carrier and maintain a strict, auditable chain of custody from collection to final processing. At the point of pickup, we record the waste streams we’re collecting (e.g., furniture, WEEE, metals, mattresses, mixed household waste) and the intended treatment route (reuse, recycling, recovery, or disposal). This transparency protects you as the waste “producer” under UK regulations and ensures that items are not fly-tipped or mishandled once they leave your property. Our teams are trained to identify regulated materials on site—such as refrigerant-containing appliances, batteries, fluorescent tubes, oils, paints, or other hazardous items—so they can be correctly segregated and routed to authorised facilities without delay.

Every collection A Star Waste Management do is backed by a Duty of Care Waste Transfer Note, which documents who produced the waste, who carried it, what was collected, and where it’s going. For any regulated items, we also issue the relevant consignment notes and maintain supporting evidence from downstream partners (e.g., AATF certificates for WEEE, licensed refrigerant extraction for fridges/freezers). You receive copies for your records, creating a clear audit trail that demonstrates compliance should a landlord, letting agent, insurer, or local authority ever ask. Beyond paperwork, we continuously review transfer station tickets and recycling reports to verify that materials are being processed through the right channels. The result is simple: your clearance is fully traceable, environmentally responsible, and aligned with all applicable waste regulations—giving you complete confidence from doorstep to destination.
