Hi, I'm Jordan, the owner of A Star Waste Management, based right here in Worthing. For the past few years I have been helping people across Worthing and the surrounding towns with reliable, stress-free rubbish clearance and waste removal. Whether it is a full house clearance, a garden full of waste or just a load of junk you need gone, I want it to be easy.
A Star started with a simple idea: turn up when you say you will, give people an honest price, do the heavy lifting properly and leave the place tidier than you found it. It sounds obvious, but it is not what everyone experiences in this industry, and it is why so much of our work now comes from repeat customers and recommendations.

Jordan organized his crew to come and clear a mountain of rubbish from my back garden. A well overdue clearance all soggy and disintegrated and included a dead rat within..yuk. The lads did an amazing job. They were polite and courteous and worked flat out in the pouring rain. I can highly recommend them and will be using them again. I probably won't leave it so long next time though!

A skip alternative that does the loading for you
For most household clear-outs, a man-and-van style collection is quicker and simpler than a skip. There is no permit to arrange if a skip would need to go on the road, nothing sitting on your drive for a week, no neighbours adding their rubbish, and no weekend spent filling it yourself. You pay for the waste we take, and the labour is included.
Several of our reviewers have said it was cheaper than a skip too. That is not true for every job, and for a long building project a skip can make sense. We are always happy to talk it through honestly.
Doing it properly: licensed, insured and recycled
Householders and businesses both have a legal duty of care to make sure their waste goes to someone authorised to carry it. If rubbish you have paid someone to take is later fly-tipped, it can be traced back to you. A Star is a licensed, insured waste carrier, and every load goes to authorised transfer and recycling facilities.
We sort as we load, separating metal, timber, cardboard, green waste and electricals so they can be recycled, and we set aside furniture and household items that are still usable wherever possible. Sofas and armchairs are kept apart because of the rules on persistent organic pollutants, and fridges go to specialist treatment where their gases are captured safely.
Homes, landlords and businesses

All FAQsHow much does rubbish removal cost?
It depends on how much there is, how heavy it is, and how easy it is to reach. The quickest way to get an exact price is to send us a few photos on WhatsApp. We give a clear quote before we start, with no hidden extras on the day.
How quickly can you collect?
We often collect within a day or two, and sometimes the same day, but it depends on the diary. Tell us how urgent it is and we will give you our earliest slot.
Is it cheaper than a skip?
For most household clear-outs, yes, because the loading is included and you do not need a permit or space for a skip. For very large, ongoing building projects, a skip may suit better, and we will tell you honestly.
Do I need to be there during the clearance?
No. Many clearances are done while the family is elsewhere. We can arrange access through a key holder, agent or solicitor and send you photos when we have finished.
Why does sofa disposal cost more?
Because sofas and armchairs must now be disposed of by incineration under the POPs rules, which costs more than general disposal.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. A Star Waste Management is a licensed waste carrier and fully insured. All waste goes to authorised facilities.
Do you recycle?
Yes. We separate metal, timber, cardboard, green waste and electricals as we load, and set aside reusable items wherever possible.
Will you take things from inside the house?
Yes. We collect from any room, loft, garage, shed or garden, not just the kerbside. Just tell us about stairs and access when you get in touch.
